AM: Class 1 Week 4

Another super late post, but I've been busy busy! Week 4 was all about Timing and Spacing. These are two of the things I think I struggle with most. It comes with experience, so I just need to concentrate, learn, and the rest will follow.

Timing: How long it takes to get from point A to point B.

Spacing: The visual distance from one frame to the next.

Good timing is visually appealing and makes sense. It has to have nice arcs and physics.

Important concepts in Timing:
1. Weight
2. Gravity
3. Momentum
4. Inertia
5. Acceleration & Deceleration
6. Force

Isaac Newton Laws:
Law #1: An object in motion tends to stay in motion, and an object at rest tends to stay at rest, unless the object is acted upon by an outside force.
Law #2: Acceleration = force over mass. Which basically means, the bigger the object, the longer it takes to start and stop moving.

Pay attention to your keys, inbetweens, add slow in and slow out. Add contrast and variety to your movements. Real life observation = best text book!

Observation, practice and experimentation will help you develop an eye for timing in your own animation.

And here is my work for week 4!
